Cromwell House and Hospital provides Ministry of Health certified Residential Aged Care Services.
We provide:
- Private Hospital Level of Care
- Dementia Level of Care (Secure)
- Rest Home Level of Care
Our Hospital caters for 23 Resident’s; most rooms are single well appointed rooms with space for personal items and furnishings (apart from the bed)
Our Dementia Unit caters for up to 22 residents with plenty of room that facilitates a pleasant environment.
All residents who are admitted to Cromwell House and Hospital must be needs assessed by their local needs assessment service before entry to the facility. Funding questions and answers can be directed to Work and Income Residential subsidy Unit on 0800 999 727
Under the leadership of the Manager/Clinical manager, we have a Registered Nurse on duty at all times; 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Many of our care staff are trained as nurses in their home countries and all our staff are trained in Dementia Care. Our contract Physiotherapist visits weekly or Biweekly; and is also integrally involved with the admission process. Our GP, Dr Paul Trotman, is from a local practice and has had many years experience in Care of the Elderly. Hs available 24/7 and visits on a weekly basis and when needed in an emergency situation. We have Podiatrist visit on a 6 weekly basis.
We encourage our residents to decorate their fully furnished rooms in order to maintain a sense of individuality. Residents also have access to two generously sized lounges and a sunny conservatory and deck.
Residents can either stroll on the pathway that encompasses the fully enclosed property or can sit and relax in one of our beautiful gardens.
Kitchen services are provided on site; and our meals are all dietician and Registered Nurse approved and when there is a clinical need our dietician provides individualised dietary input.
Our activities staff have a full program of activities and events which are updated weekly. Each resident has an individualised Activities Plan and they are encouraged to take part in the many activities available.
Our care team ensure that Cromwell House and Hospital residents remain comfortable and safe. All staff are requried to attend our regular training in-services; and some staff also attend off site training courses.
